Valley Stream, NY – Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages is working in partnership with Long Island Cares, Inc to provide supplemental food support to people affected by the coronavirus in the 22nd Assembly District through a virtual food drive. Those in need of immediate food assistance should call Long Island Cares at (631) 582-3663.
The purpose behind the virtual food bank is to provide an opportunity for those who are able and willing to contribute to their neighbors in need. “Although issues relating to food insecurity are not new to our district, our current situation has exacerbated the need for additional food assistance resources. I am grateful to Island Harvest and its partner agencies for adapting to the unique needs of Long Islanders during these uncertain times,” Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages stated. “We will continue to come up with ways to be proactive in the community and help our residents get through this difficult time.”
